Every purchase benefits local food justice + sustainability efforts.
OUR MISSION:
In the United States, about 40 million people are food insecure. 23.5 million people live in food deserts. 11 million of these people are low-income.
Roots and Shoots is committed to finding and helping fund projects that can help reverse that gap and create a better food system that is more equitable and sustainable for all. For every product sold, a percentage of the sales price will go towards supporting one of these projects. Discover our current campaign below.
Current Campaign: 90% of proceeds will benefit Urban Growers Collective. Urban Growers Collective is a Bridgeport, Chicago-based nonprofit working to create community-based food systems and increase access to fresh and healthy foods, with several farm sites on the Southeast Side. According to cofounder Erika Allen, production has massively increased at their sites, in large part to provide more emergency food for those impacted by food access challenges. Funds raised will offset operational costs and increase the number of pay-what-you-can produce boxes for members.
